Healers, Helpers and Guides: A New Dawn
by Bertie Ryan Synowiec, MS, DC

If you want to know what Chiropractic care is all about from a nonjudgmental perspective, Healers, Helpers and Guides: A New Dawn is the book to read! What began as a two page testimonial for this patient, has now become the third book in a Healing Journey Trilogy.

In this incredible journey the author, Bertie Ryan Synowiec, M.S., experiences over forty-five healings, something, she later discovers is very common among Chiropractic patients. Surrendering and trusting her inner guidance, she falls in love with the mystery of Chiropractic and watches her thinking shift away from the medical model into the Chiropractic wellness model. With a heart and spirit that overrides her rich scientific background, she explains with words what can only be learned, experientially, through the Chiropractic adjustment.

As she travels around the country for three years, she takes the reader behind the scenes to Chiropractic conferences where she listens, hungry to learn about Chiropractic Philosophy. Chiropractic care is not complementary alternative medicine (CAM), although it is often listed as such. It is an alternative to the practice of medicine, except where emergency surgery or intensive care is required. Chiropractic care is first, medications are second, surgery is third - in that order! By correcting the misalignment of the vertebrae of the spine, Chiropractors go after the cause of dis-ease which is nerve interference. It is the Chiropractic adjustment that frees the body to heal itself, as it was created to do.

Dr. Synowiec’s Chiropractic story is told with great sincerity. In the end she is convinced that, if medical doctors understood the healing power of Chiropractic, they would want to know more about this wellness care. After only five years in care, the author feels alive and well with a clarity in mindbodyspirit she never believed possible.

As she was finishing her story, she thought her Healing Journey Trilogy was complete. God had a different plan and made her wait a year for the closing chapter. When it came, it arrived with such a force that many of her questions were answered and what had immobilized her, disappeared, revealing her true purpose and mission in life.
