AFTER AN ADJUSTMENT

Because all adjustments are slightly different for everyone, one patient may not adapt the same way after the adjustment as the next patient

For example, most of our patients describe being relaxed after receiving an adjustment

Although it is best to take it easy after an adjustment, some of our patients tell us they become very energetic. They rush home or to work and are able to do all their chores or business without fatigue.

First-time adjusted patients may experience tenderness or soreness due to muscles working to hold the adjustment.

Fortunately, even those experiencing such first-time adjustment responses comment that their bodies do function better when subluxations are corrected.

There are some patients who mention none of the above adaptive responses. This does not mean that subluxation correction has not been made.

What causes these things to happen?

1. Some people are experiencing a detoxification of their bodies after the adjustment. When poisons leave the system, there may be some discomfort.

2. The muscles are realigning the spine itself and muscles that were improperly working in a subluxated (misaligned) spine are now working.

3. Sometimes nerves that had pressure and interfered with the transmission of mental impulses for years are coming “back to life” or healing. They are becoming resensitive, and are awakening.

4. Some people are in such good general health that they may feel no different, while others may feel no different for the opposite reason—they aren’t sensitive anymore, their spine has been subluxated too long.

Some people are very sensitive to their bodies and may actually feel awakening of the proper flow of life energy from the brain to all parts of the body.

However, with all of the interest in what is felt after an adjustment, please remember that the greatest things are going on below the surface, beneath our conscious awareness. An adjustment will allow hundreds of bodily functions to work better.
